Why products with insect powder?
In 2013 FAO publishes "Edible insects: future prospects for food and feed security." Here, the food challenges we will face are listed and quantified, particularly those related to increased demand for protein.
FAO identifies insects as the best viable and best performing answer we can give.
An insect is composed of about 60 percent noble protein (i.e., containing all 9 essential amino acids) and is 80 percent edible.
Beef contains about 25 percent noble protein and is 40 percent edible.
In addition, insects are also rich in vitamin B12, iron, zinc and other nutrients.
